The increasing pressure from population growth is leading to more intense use of recreational areas. With the growing number of visitors, it is crucial to have an up-to-date and accurate view of visitor flows in these areas. In collaboration with Abelleisure, we have developed advanced counting sensors for pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles, and even animals, to help governments make informed policy decisions.
In our innovative sensor solution, we have implemented a PIR sensor that detects movement, triggering a LiDAR sensor to accurately measure passages when the laser beam is interrupted. The collected data is transmitted every 30 minutes via an LTE-M connection to our custom-developed software, where both real-time and historical counts are clearly displayed. With this solution, we contribute to the protection of natural areas worldwide, providing governments with the tools to make decisions that will help create a more sustainable and better world.
